2006 Season
was a great year for Jay as he won his 6th track championship at Grays Harbor raceway with two feature wins along the way. He needs one more (championship) to tie George Wixon arguably the best sprint car racer in the history of the speedway and two (championships) to overtake that title. Jay also raced with the Northern Sprint tour in 2006 … the final year for the series. In late July Jay would win the biggest race of his career passing Nascar star Kasey Kahne and National Sprint Tour star Jason Sides to the delight of full grandstands and a capacity crowd on their feet. Not only the biggest of Jay’s career but the largest race each year for the series. Jay would finish the year 5th place in Northern Sprint Tour Points. At the 2006 FanFest celebration at Grays Harbor Raceway Jay for the 2nd year in a row Won the award of “Most Popular Driver” … an award voted on by the fans.
